A. Lange & Söhne
When Ferdinand Adolph Lange, a Dresden-based watchmaker, founded his factory in 1845, he set the standard for Saxon precision watchmaking. His high-quality pocket watches are still highly prized by collectors around the world. After the Second World War, the company was expropriated and the name A. Lange & Söhne was almost forgotten. In 1990, Walter Lange, the great-grandson of Ferdinand Adolph Lange, dared to take over the business.
Today, only a few thousand gold and platinum wristwatches leave the Lange workshops each year. They are powered exclusively by movements developed by the Manufacture, artistically decorated, and assembled by hand. With 63 in-house calibers, A. Lange & Söhne has secured a leading position among the world's best watch brands since 1994.
Among its greatest successes are brand icons such as the LANGE 1, with the first large date in a mass-produced wristwatch, and the ZEITWERK, with a dial showing hours and minutes by jumping numbers. Sophisticated complications such as the ZEITWERK MINUTE REPETITION, the PERPETUAL TOURBILLON DATOGRAPH, or the TRIPLE SPLIT embody the Manufacture's aspiration to always take its long-standing art to new heights.
